Surface diving is an important skill to learn when swimming, as it allows you to go underwater and explore the depths of the pool or ocean. Here’s how to surface dive both feet first and head first:

Feet-first surface dive:

  1. Start by standing in water that is deep enough to allow you to dive down without touching the bottom.
  2. Take a deep breath, hold it, and lean forward, tucking your chin to your chest and lifting your legs off the bottom.
  3. Keep your arms extended in front of you and kick your legs to propel yourself down into the water.
  4. When you reach the bottom or the desired depth, release your breath and push off the bottom with your feet to rise back to the surface.

Head-first surface dive:

  1. Start in the same position as the feet-first surface dive, standing in water that is deep enough to allow you to dive down without touching the bottom.
  2. Take a deep breath, hold it, and begin to swim towards the bottom, using a breaststroke or freestyle.
  3. As you approach the bottom, tuck your chin to your chest and extend your arms above your head.
  4. Use your arms to push off the bottom and propel yourself back to the surface.
  5. When you reach the surface, lift your head and take a deep breath.

Remember, when learning to surface dive, it’s important to always have a swimming partner with you and to start with shallow depths before attempting deeper dives. It’s also important to always follow pool or beach rules and regulations, and never attempt a surface dive in areas that are off-limits or unsafe.
